Join with Catholic World Mission to rush immediate relief to
the millions of survivors of the catastrophic tsunami. At this
time, the most urgent need is money to enable the
field workers at the disaster sites to purchase precisely what
they need-we do not need you to send materials of
supplies. Through your generosity, CWM and our partners will provide:
- Food
and clean water for the most vulnerable survivors
- Medical assistance for
children and families so the aftermath is not another disaster
of death
- "Survival Kits" to meet short-term hygiene and living needs
(soap, cooking utensils, sleeping mats, and the like)
- Shelter and consolation
for those who lost everything
- The long-term help needed to rebuild
livelihoods so the survivors can rebuild their lives
Here are ways
you can help:
1. Make a donation now so we can

to make a secure on-line donation now (the best way
to speed your support) or call us at 203-287-6314 to

Catholic World Mission,
the missionary office of the Legion of Christ, is collecting
for tsunami relief. We will be distributing medicines, emergency aid,
and cash for immediate needs and long-term recovery through Catholic
Church channels in the affected areas. This will ensure that
we only support efforts that are in conformity with Catholic
moral and social teachings. Remember: we can process and consolidate
donations worldwide, having already begun processing foreign donations over the
weekend.
The US government has passed a law making tsunami charitable
contributions during January deductible for last year´s taxes (2004), if
the donor wishes. We will provide a special tax receipt
for this purpose in February.
Here are the specifics:
- US: donations
made through January 31, 2005, may be deducted against 2004
taxes;
Details:
- DONATIONS may be made on-line at our website: www.catholicworldmission.org, through a special form that is available on our
home page, using a credit card, on-line check, or PayPal.
We can accept all major credit cards from around the
world.
- ENVELOPES for donations may also be ordered from our
website. Many people are offering to distribute them in their
parishes, to friends, and family.
- Prayer intentions may be offered
through a form on our website (also accessible from our
home page when you click on the ´tsunami relief´ picture).
