Vatican City, March 15, 2008. This morning, Pope Benedict XVI received Father Álvaro Corcuera, LC, in a private audience. Father Álvaro Corcuera is the general director of the congregation of the Legionaries of Christ and of the Regnum Christi apostolic movement.

In this meeting, Father Corcuera told the Holy Father that the Legionaries and Regnum Christi members wanted to confirm their unconditional loyalty to the Pope at the start of this new stage in their history after the

death of their founder, who passed away this past January 30.

The Holy Father, with fatherly kindness, assured Father Corcuera that he continues closely accompanying the Legion of Christ and Regnum Christi with his prayers. He then granted all of its members his apostolic blessing, especially the thousands of young people and families who will participate in evangelization missions across the world during Holy Week.
