Elementary School Religion Texts Approved by U.S. Bishops

Atlanta (USA), July 19th, 2005. Bishop Donald Wuerl of Pittsburgh recently sent the following letter to Fr. Scott Reilly LC:

It is a pleasure to express a word of support for the Catechetical textbook series published by the Legionaries of Christ entitled “The Treasures or Our Catholic Faith.”

The declaration that this series is in conformity with the Catechism of the Catholic Church highlights the complete and authentic nature of the content of this textbook series. It is clear that it is a useful resource in communicating to children in grades one through six the rich teaching of the Catholic Church. The comprehensive and systematic presentation of the faith in this series helps to bring our children to an understanding and appreciation of the beliefs and practices of the Catholic Church. Among its many positive characteristics, this resource integrates Scriptural themes in presenting doctrine and moral teaching.  Used by faith-filled and competent catechists this series can play a vital and effective role in any catechetical program.
