Melbourn, March 27, 2006. The first-ever Regnum Christi Men´s
Convention for Oceania was held in Melbourne, Australia, March 3-5,
2006.
Twenty-eight participants traveled from Auckland and Dunedin in New Zealand
and from Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide in Australia. The theme
of the convention was "Evangelisation of Culture". Among the speakers
were Fr John Bullock, LC, Jason Garrett (Director of ConQuest Boys Clubs for the US & Australia) and auxiliary
Bishop Mark Coleridge of Melbourne.
Bishop Coleridge spoke the morning of
March 5 about the role of new ecclesial movements like
Regnum Christi in the New Evangelization.
The Bishop then celebrated the
holy Eucharist, exhorting the Regnum Christi men to accompany Christ
closely during the season of lent. The convention concluded with
lunch and traditional songs from the two countries: ´Waltzing Matilda´
& ´Why Does Love Do This to me?´
The convention
provided the men an opportunity to grow in appreciation for
Regnum Christi´s charism and apostolic methodology. Four of them officially
