The Honor Roll is an independent project of the Acton Institute for the Study of Religion & Liberty, an international research and educational organization based in Grand Rapids, Mich.  A national advisory board composed of Catholic college presidents and noted Catholic scholars makes the selections. The Catholic High School Honor Roll recognizes the top 50 high schools in the nation that excel in the areas of academics, Catholic identity, and civic education.

Gateway Executive Director Larry Hofstetter acknowledged the outstanding performances by both students and staff in obtaining the Acton award. 

Gateway Academy is located in Chesterfield, Missouri, and is celebrating 15 years of educational leadership. Gateway Academy was founded by a lay board of directors and implements the educational philosophy of the Legionaries of Christ. Currently, over 170 schools, 30 institutes of higher education and 15 universities throughout the world, implement the same philosophy of education as Gateway, educating over 115,000 students. 

For The Highlands School, this was the second year making the honor roll.  In addition, The Highlands was chosen as a “Category Leader” in the area of civic education.  A list of the top 50 schools, along with lists of the top 25 schools in each category, please go to www.chshonor.org.
