El Salvador. November 24, 2007. A group of American and
European doctors and nurses recently travelled to El Salvador to
offer free consultations and surgical operations in La Divina Providencia
(Divine Providence) Hospital in Santiago Texacuangos and in the Convent
of San Pedro Nonualco.
The doctors and nurses are part
of a Regnum Christi missionary apostolate called Helping Hands
Medical Missions, which gives medical experts a chance to share
their gifts free of charge with the poor. Clips from
their latest mission were featured on El Salvador’s most important
newspaper and news website.
The clip shows a medical mission
in action, with surgeries and consultations captured on film. An
interview with a medical missionary named Dr. Peter Danny gives
some insight into these doctors’ motivations. In Spanish, Dr. Danny
says that these doctors go on medical missions with a
sense that God is sending them to share their gifts
with others, including their faith, their family, and the love
of God.
