The International Leadership Semester at the European University of Rome
A Study Abroad Program for College Students

Universidad Europea en Roma

The International Leadership Semester course is a study abroad program (maximum 50 students selected) that offers a select group of Catholic college students from around the United States the opportunity to study in Rome for a semester. The focus of the course is growth in knowledge of Western culture and personal leadership so as to help create a civilization of justice and love. The semester course is offered in both fall and spring each year.

Tracing the history of Western culture through a study of its art, religion and philosophy, the program culminates by examining the central issues of contemporary society, thus empowering its students with the tools necessary to understand and analyze today´s complex and increasingly globalized world. Throughout the semester, world-renowned intellectual, political, religious, media and business leaders will also provide guest lectures to offer their perspectives on the current world situation and the challenges facing humanity in the 21st century.

Being in Rome, the center of Christianity, also provides an unparalleled opportunity to examine and discuss the Church´s history and role in the future of the world. The program includes visits to major churches in the city, audiences with the Holy Father, and meetings with some of the closest collaborators of the Pope in the Roman Curia.

We are confident that our course will challenge and stimulate you and that you will look back on your time in Rome as one of the highlights of your undergraduate career, returning to your home country with a greater understanding of yourself, a different perspective on world affairs, a host of new friends, and a renewed eagerness to use your talents for the good of the world.
