Young people (college age and up) who are interested in
gaining work experience in the film industry are invited to
consider working in a 5-month internship as part of the
marketing and distribution team for the award-winning Bella, which was
the top rated movie in the New York Times Readers
Poll, Yahoo, Rotten Tomatoes, and Fandango sites and on Christmas
Eve was rated the top Box Office sell-out in its
category for the year 2007.
As Bella begins its release
in international theaters and comes out on DVD on May
6th, interns will continue to be a crucial part of
its success. The Bella Internship position provides young people the
opportunity to work for a great cause while also interfacing
with the producers, director, main actor, and/or the Bella marketing
team in one of four locations: Hollywood, CA; West Palm
Beach, FL; Philadelphia, PA, and Washington, DC.
There are two
internship cycles: from January 1st – May 31st, and from
May 1st to September 30th. All internship positions are unpaid,
and the interns may work full or part-time in one
of the main offices or remotely from home.
Types of
Internship Positions
- On-site Interns
Interns who already live in one
of the main office cities listed above can volunteer full
or part-time (days or evenings) as part of the Bella
promotion and marketing team. When applying, please specify your city
and the hours you are available to work in the
office.
Interns who would like to relocate to one of
the four hub cities must indicate their city of choice
on their application e-mail. Housing is available for those interns
working in the Miami / West Palm Beach and Philadelphia
offices for the nominal fee of $100 for the duration
of the program. Interns are responsible for their own lodging
at the Hollywood/Los Angeles and Washington DC locations. Food and
travel expenses are not included at any location.
- Remote Interns
Remote interns will be able to attend regular conference calls
with the producers and/or marketing directors of Bella, and on
occasion with the lead actor and director. Tasks and work
guidance for remote interns will be mainly through e-mail.
- As-Needed
Interns
If you are unable to commit to a set
number of hours per week, you may submit your information
to be considered an "as-needed" remote intern. Our nationwide team
of “pinch hitters” has proven to be a key element
to our marketing strategies.
How to Apply
All interns are
required to submit a resume and/or a brief paragraph about
themselves, along with the type of internship (on-site or remote)
they are interested in pursuing. Once we receive your information,
we will contact you via email within 48 hours regarding
the status of your application.
Applications should be sent via e-mail
to Erin McCrory at erin@bellathemovie.com with the subject header
clearly indicating whether you are applying for a remote or
on-site internship, as well as your remote home city or
your preferred on-site location.
