March 5, 2009. This summer, the Institute for Higher
Studies on Women is offering a week-long summer course entitled
“The Female Condition Today: Contemporary Challenges.” The course will be
offered on the campus of the Pontifical Regina Apostolorum
College in Rome from July 13-23, 2009. The registration deadline
is May 13.
The international course is intended to help women
understand and meet the many challenges in today’s culture and
society. It is divided into 4 seminars:
• “Towards a
discovery of women’s dignity” - will illustrate the foundations of
woman’s dignity as a human person who must never be
objectified or used.
• “The feminine condition today: challenges in
society” - will shed light on specific problematic situations of
women in the world today, and will offer solutions.
• “The family: a treasure that deserves international protection” -
will analyze the current crisis of the family and explain
why the family is a treasure that must be protected
for the common good.
• “Women and bioethical questions” -
will address specific bioethical issues that have a direct impact
Simultaneous translation will be provided for English-speakers and participants
in the course will earn a diploma from the Institute
for Higher Studies on Women at the Pontifical Regina Apostolorum
College. The cost of the seminar, which includes a weekend
cultural outing in Rome, is 950 Euros ($1,197).
