July 9, 2009. Detroit, Michigan. When Regnum Christi member Kelly
Luttinen first listened to Christopher West’s presentation of Theology of
the Body in the CD set “Naked Without Shame,” she
felt angry and cheated.
“All I could think was, ‘Why had
no one ever told me the Church’s teaching on human
sexuality in this way before?!’ All the misery of my
youth could have been avoided – I had been a
victim of the culture and it almost destroyed me,” she
said.
She first heard West’s talks while taking moral theology
classes at Sacred Heart Seminary with Dr Janet Smith as
the professor. Dr Smith had given the class the 10-CD
set of “Naked Without Shame” as a Christmas present. For
Kelly, it was a gift that kept on giving.
From
then on, she felt called to help spread a message
that revolutionizes the way people think about the meaning of
the body and of sexuality. She attended Christopher West’s Theology
of the Body Institute. Shortly afterwards, she began to get
involved with radio ministry at Michigan Catholic Radio (WCAR 1090
AM), where she has hosted several other radio shows on
