July 12, 2010. Greenville, RI. A 3-part video interview of
five members of the consecrated women of Regnum Christi
conducted at Mater Ecclesiae College in Greenville, Rhode Island
gives a glimpse into the private life of the nearly
900 women who have “given their lives to Christ,” as
they describe. Those interviewed gave an in-depth look at their personal
struggles and consolations during this challenging time for the Movement.
Nancy
Nohrden, who has been consecrated for 12 years, and is
now working in St. Louis, Missouri, teaching catechism at Gateway
Academy, had a passionate response to the question about her
call to the consecrated life.
“Fr Maciel didn’t call me,” she
said. “The consecrated (women) didn’t call me. Jesus Christ called me
to give my life to him within this spiritual family."
As
the consecrated women wait for Pope Benedict XVII’s next decision
after the release of the May 1, 2010 communiqué stating
that the Holy See will honor the consecrated women’s request
to send a visitator to them as he did to
the Legion of Christ, they are strengthened by prayer.
“It
is a moment of great discernment, and the whole Church
is discerning with us and helping us to get through
this,” said Nancy.
