| Mission Youth members hold signs in silent witness | |

Jacksonville, Florida, December 16, 2010 -- The Mission
Youth high school club in Jacksonville, Florida, held its first mission
on October 9, 2010. The group participated in a Pro-Life
Eucharistic Procession and Mass with Bishop Victor Galeone and Fr.
Frank Pavone, the National Director of Priests for Life.
They ended the morning saying the rosary and holding
pro-life signs in front of a local abortion clinic.
Three testimonies from teens involved in this mission follow:
- “I was moved the most by seeing people of
all ages there, the young and the old. It was
inspiring to see how many people really care about
the lives of the unborn. It was amazing to see
the reverence and determination to save the unborn. It
was truly a breath-taking experience. Also, the thought that
by doing this pro-life mission we might have saved
one baby’s life, is wonderful. Even if it only saved

one baby’s life, that one life is worth it.” Kelly

- “I´ve always been told actions speak louder than words,
and if you want to see a difference in the
world, you have to be the difference. I want to see
the end of abortion in my lifetime. The first
step to accomplishing that is volunteering my time to show
others there´s someone out there who cares about their
unborn child. Part of being the difference is that
not everyone agrees with you. The passers-by who yell
and make rude gestures are the reason I felt compelled
to spend part of my weekend, my break from
school, standing in front of an abortion clinic, praying
to God to answer our prayers. To be a part
of a community working for good is also very
rewarding. Not all who passed by were angry; others whistled,
cheered, or even just smiled at us to show
they are praying with us to end this child
holocaust called abortion.” Sarah Regan
- “During the inspirational walk-for-life, I felt
Jesus continuously reminding me why I was there and what
I was fighting for, and He made me want
to keep fighting for the lives of those precious
children, created by His own hands. I remember reading the
prayer card I received before the walk, and I
was hit pretty hard. It read: "...Never to stop
defending life...until our nation once again becomes a nation with
liberty and justice not just for some, but for all..."
This made me see just how little respect these
children are being given. They share a part of the
so-called "land of liberty," and yet they are not given
this liberty. The unborn deserve their lives every bit
as much as people already born do. My eyes
were truly opened to the understanding that there is no
difference between the born and unborn. We are all
people. We are all children of God. And we
all deserve the right to life.” Katelyn Dery
