| Christmas event in Thornwood | |

Thornwood, New York, Jan. 3, 2010 -- The Legion
of Christ seminarians have much to be thankful for this
Christmas. They helped spread the good news of
the season to more than 400 members of their community
on December 19, 2010.
The Legionary “brothers” invited the
community to a free Christmas concert and celebration in their
specially designed “Christmas Room” which the brothers created at
their center in Thornwood to tell the story of
Christmas through art.
“The Legionaries of Christ wish to thank
the community and the 400 people who attended the Christmas
Concert and reception on December 19th,” said Fr. Thomas
Vendetti, LC, who helped to organize the event. “This
was the largest turnout we have ever had. We
hope this event added to the quality and joy of
the Christmas season for those who attended.”
The event included a special
music program of traditional carols sung by the Legion
choir and ended in the “Christmas room” reception area,
which included a full-size nativity scene.
Fr. Vendetti wished to
express heartfelt gratitude to the local vendors who provided
flowers and refreshments.
“And we are especially grateful
to those who donated to help cover the costs of
the brothers’ studies,” said Fr. Vendetti. “We promise to
keep all who attended in our prayers, and informed
of future events of interest. God bless all. We wish
all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!”
