Cheshire, Connecticut, April 4, 2011 -- Seminarians from the Legion
of Christ are spreading a little “fun and joy” while
getting the word out about themselves through their new accounts
on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.
“These accounts show a side of
the Legion the world probably needs to see right now,”
said Brother Peter Dolan, LC, who is helping to coordinate
the social networking efforts from Cheshire, Connecticut. “We are just
trying to meet people where they are and build relationships.
“Our Facebook page called ‘LC Chesire’ is like an open
door to the life in the Cheshire seminary,” he said.
“On the page, visitors can come in, meet us, and
get an idea of what we do here.”
The Cheshire social
networking efforts are all connected through the ‘LC Chesire’ Facebook
page. Two highlights are the Legion seminarians’ recent snowball fight,
and their Lenten prayer campaign.
“People submit intentions and we pray
for them; it’s that simple,” said Brother Peter. “We get
to fulfill our mission of praying for others, and they
get the power of our prayers. We think it is
a real win-win.”
