Dallas, Texas -- Bishop Kevin J. Farrell celebrated Mass at
The Highlands School recently, and the date was coincidentally
the anniversary of his Episcopal ordination. He was ordained a
bishop nine years ago in February 11, 2002.
“It was important
I celebrate this anniversary precisely here,” he told those in
attendance.
“Although the school community was eager to show our gratitude
to him, his words were full of gratitude and encouragement
to us,” said Regnum Christi consecrated woman Alexandra Hochhaus, formation
director at The Highlands School.
Bishop Farrell commented during his homily
at Mass, “So much of who I am as a
priest is based on the same spirit that guides…you. I
really do feel a part of the life of this
community here,” he said, pointing out the presence of the
Legionaries and consecrated women.
He went on to thank the school
for its strong participation in the March for Life and
giving witness to Catholic principles in the community. At the
same time, he acknowledged the challenges facing the school, recalling
the Gospel story of Jesus sleeping in the storm, stating
that “God will always be with us.”
