By Br. Matthew P. Schneider, LC
Catholic.net has started a new
weekly e-mail called “Virtue’s Clues.” It is a weekly service
with a one-page story about virtues from the lives of
the saints, the news or personal experiences.
For years, Catholic.net has
published a similar service in Spanish called “Virtudes y Valores”
(Virtues and Values), and a handful of seminarians in Rome
decided to offer the same in English.
“We figured that it
was just something we had to do, kind of like
when St. Paul said ‘Woe to me if I do
not preach the gospel.’ If something we write can help
even one person, it will be totally worth it!” said
Br Thomas Flynn, LC, who helped get it off the
ground.
When asked what virtues would be covered, Br Flynn
emphasized that it would be a broad and varied spectrum.
“We will try to cover all the virtues that transform
someone into a complete human being and a saint. We
don’t want to focus on one virtue alone because we
need all the virtues to grow into the person Christ
wants us to be.”
Over the past few months, Br Flynn
has assembled a team of 16 fellow religious to help
write the weekly stories.
“I think we have a great
team for this project, each one will be able to
contribute their own style and experience,” he said.
