Rome, Italy. June 30, 2011. This upcoming Saturday, June 2,
a group of 41 Legionary religious will be ordained to
the diaconate at the Legion’s Center for Higher Studies in
Rome. Bishop Giuseppe Bertello, the apostolic nuncio in Italy, will
preside over the ordination ceremony, which is scheduled for 10:00
a.m.
The 41 Legionaries are from 7 countries: Mexico, the United
States, Brazil, Colombia, Italy, Spain, and Hungary.
There are 13
Americans in the group: Steven Costello, Thomas Flynn, Gregory Heslip,
Michael Maciborski, Nathan Miller, Jason Mitchell, Michael Mitchell, Thomas Montanaro,
Reuben Nuxoll, Michael Picard, Devin Roza, Aaron Vinduska, and Timothy
Wysocki.
This ceremony will mark the first ordination of a Hungarian
Legionary of Christ, Tamás Fejéregyházi. Two sets of brothers will
also be ordained on the same day: Jason and Michael
Mitchell, from the United States, and Juan Pablo and Andrés
Botero, from Colombia.
Along with the other Legionaries who have been
or will be ordained to the diaconate this summer, they
will be ordained to the priesthood in Rome on December
12, the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
The other diaconal
ordinations of 2011 are:
• Colombia, June 4.
• Monterrey, June 19.
• Mexico City, June 22.
• Bogotá, July 30.
