Anyone who uses
online technology today is aware that the traditional print industry
is changing. More and more people are now
downloading their books and other reading material to portable devices. Br. Randall J. Meissen,
LC, author of the book Living Miracles: The Spiritual Sons
of John Paul the Great, knows this first hand.
The digital edition of his
book for the Amazon Kindle e-reader briefly held the number
one spot in the Amazon Kindle store’s “Catholicism/Popes” category. In a 14-day period, more than 1100 people downloaded
the book for their Kindle. For a short
time, the book even outranked Witness to Hope, the popular
biography of John Paul II.
Br. Randall presently resides at the Legion’s
Center for Higher Studies in Rome where
he is studying theology in preparation for priestly ordination. He said the book is “my way of saying
thank you to Blessed John Paul II for showing us
that Christian heroism is not lost in the past. It is part of our mission today as Catholics
of the 21st century.”
Br. Randall told
Zenit the book discusses what the "‘JP2 revolution’
priests have in common and how God chose to plant
and nourish the seed of their vocations through the witness
of the Bishop of Rome.”
Living Miracles features a foreword by Archbishop Charles
Chaput and illustrations by Regnum Christi member Mimi Sternhagen. Those interested in getting a copy of the digital
version of Br. Meissen’s book can click here.
The Kindle version costs $7.95 to download. The
book is published by Mission Network and the ISBN number
is 1933271272.
