Seoul, Korea
- Over the past 2 years, 14 Korean boys have
attended Oaklawn Academy in Wisconson. Oaklawn is gaining reputation
in Korea, thanks to positive feedback from the boys and
their families, who appreciate the integral formation that the school
offers.
On August 11, the 14 Oaklawn alumni gathered
together in an event organized by the Legionaries of Christ
in Korea. This gave them the opportunity to catch up
and share memories of Oaklawn. There was a great spirit
of camaraderie among the boys and the Legionaries!
Fr. John Ko,
Fr. Simon Chung, and Br. Thomas Connelly, all Legionaries working
in Korea, led the alumni meeting. They showed a video
with greetings and messages for the boys from the Oaklawn
faculty and staff. They had lunch together and
went to a nearby museum afterwards. The boys selected an
alumni representative, and planned to
begin holding alumni meetings twice
a year.
It was a very memorable time, which all
of the boys enjoyed; they are proud of being Oaklawn
students and friends of the Legionaries in Korea!
