Manila, Philippines – On November
8, students, families, and supporters of Everest Academy Manila gathered
to celebrate the groundbreaking for Everest’s new middle school. Everest
Academy, which began 5 years ago with 19 students, is
now serving more than 260 students and continues to grow!
In his message to everyone
present, Operations Director Eduardo Guerra said that Everest “may not
be huge compared to our neighbors, but our commitment in
fulfilling our mission of forming our students to become tomorrow’s
Christian leaders inspires us to always strive higher and be
better.”
The Everest community sees
this new middle school as part of that mission –
an opportunity to evangelize culture by helping even more students
to become Christian leaders.
7th grader Savion Garcia compared Everest Academy to the mustard
seed in the Gospel; it started out small, but grew
into something great.
“From
tiny beginnings, just like a mustard seed, Everest Academy is
growing. This also applies to us. We are still growing
and we are still learning. We sincerely hope that Everest
Academy will have a strong base so that it will
be fully formed in the future and thus, will be
able to form students with strong foundations in will and
in spirit.”
Everest staff, families,
and friends gave thanks to God for the continuing mission
of their school, as it seeks to serve more and
more families in Manila.
“I
beseech the Good Lord to envelop this campus with the
spirit of discovery and spiritual growth,” said Daniel Lee. “That
our students will use this knowledge to better the world
around them.”
