“It is such a joy to have moments like this to come together as a spiritual family.”

These are the words of Local Coordinator for Apostolate Fr. Daniel Brandenburg, LC, discussing the Christ the King festivities in the Ohio Valley.

The Regnum Christi sections each celebrated the feast at parish and diocesan locations the last weekend of November, 2012.

Indianapolis, Indiana

The celebration took place at the Our Lady of the Apostles Family Center.  Approximately 60 people enjoyed the pleasant and relaxing setting, said organizer John Kube.

“Thanks to our Apostolic Administrator, Bishop Christopher Coyne, for giving us permission to celebrate this event at our Family Center!” he said. “We really appreciate the opportunity to host this event at this special place, ‘our RC home’.” 

Fr Matthew Summe, LC, celebrated the Mass starting at 10:30 am, which was followed by exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, a solemn rosary, confession, and Benediction. 

Fr Matthew gave a talk to the adults and youth about perseverance and keeping one´s eyes fixed on the goal of heaven in eternity.  After lunch, Anna Richart gave a very "heartfelt and entertaining" testimony on her experience last summer in the

Columbus, Ohio

Mass was held at 4:00 pm at St. Michael parish in Worthington.  Afterwards about 30 Regnum Christi members and others attending met at Whetstone Park of Roses for a pizza party, salads and dessert.  The children made a Christ the King table top card and decorated a jewel for Christ’s crown, containing either corporal or spiritual works of mercy that they were going to commit to do.

The RC men led the group in a family rosary, and Zach Ratliff, who was home for Thanksgiving from Sacred Heart Apostolic School, gave a testimony of his experience at the school, highlighting his integral formation and looking forward to his missionary opportunity in Mexico next spring. 

Also, RC member Yvonne King celebrated her 10-year anniversary with the movement, sharing a cake in honor of the occasion!

Kentucky

Members and friends from Lexington and Louisville gathered for a vigil and solemn rosary on Saturday evening, and then were joined the next morning at the 11:00 am Mass at

St. Patrick’s parish in Louisville. The pastor, Fr. Martin Linebach, welcomed Fr. Daniel Brandenburg, LC, and all the RC members present and then joined the reception with over 100 people after Mass.  Jeff and Norma Schriefer shared their testimony of the impact Regnum Christi has had in their lives.

Also, about 10 women took on the cause of “spiritual motherhood" in a special ceremony, committing to pray for a Legionary priest.

Cincinnati, Ohio

In the greater Cincinnati area, approximately 150 members, friends and family joined together at St. John the Baptist parish in Colerain.  The day´s festivities began with testimonies from families whose lives have been touched by their involvement with Regnum Christi and the many people and apostolates associated with the movement. 

“They gave witness to how the movement brought their individual families closer to Christ and continue to be a support to their life of faith,” said RC member Jamie Chmiel.

Fr. Timothy Walsh, LC, celebrated Mass with Fr. John Bullock LC concelebrating.   Six local young men were altar servers.

“It was an honor for all of us present to witness the dedication of the lives of our consecrated members as they knelt before us to make their Devotional Renewal of Promises during the Eucharistic Celebration,” said Jamie.

The Mass concluded with exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and then a special Blessing of 24 women who made a promise to adopt a Legionary Priest in prayer every day for the rest of their lives. 

Fr. Timothy then led a Eucharistic procession into the day chapel where two new RC members were welcomed into the movement. 

The celebration continued with a reception in the cafeteria, while some stayed to adore the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.  As the adult´s enjoyed the company of their friends and family, the young girls went off to celebrate the "King of their Hearts" at a princess party.  The boys stayed for activities in the gym where Brother Michael Yaremko

read a story about the Cristero War and then they played a game of “Federales versus the Cristeros.” 

After a full day of celebrating, one participant captured a beautiful photograph of the sun setting behind the crucifix at St. John the Baptist church, a reminder to all as they were leaving of the beauty of Christ the King in the world and in their hearts.
