Fr. Antonio Izquierdo, LC, will be celebrating the 2013 New Year with our Lord.  The 68-year-old Legionary priest of 39 years entered eternal life on December 30, 2012.

Fr. Antonio served as professor of Introduction to Sacred Scripture at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome from 1993 through 2011.  He was the General Prefect of Studies for the Legion of Christ from 1983 through 1995.

The author of numerous books and scholarly articles on spirituality and biblical studies, Fr. Antonio will be remembered for his dedication to religious and priestly life and for preaching many spiritual exercises for the Legionaries in Rome and around the world.

“He was a reference point in the spiritual life for many here,” said one of Fr. Antonio’s former students, Fr. Brian Coe, LC.

The funeral Mass will take place in the chapel at the Center of Higher Studies of the Legion of Christ in Rome.  Please keep Fr. Antonio in your prayers, and we ask that he intercede for all of us.
