Cumming, Georgia -- Nicole Madda, a student attending
Pinecrest Academy, will be serving as a missionary in
Africa, thanks to a little help from a contestant on
the popular television show, “The Voice.”
The organization,
Youth in Mission, sponsored by singing contestant and Georgia native
Pip Arnold, gave Nicole a check for $1,100.
The money will go toward Nicole’s spring mission trip with
Helping Hands Medical Mission to Ghana, West Africa.
Nicole was one of three award
recipients who were presented with checks on Dec. 18, 2012,
at Arnold’s parish, St. Joseph Church in Marietta.
Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory blessed each of the award recipients,
and Dr. John Petros, Pinecrest dad and former medical director
of Helping Hands Medical Mission, was on hand for the
presentations. Nicole has been involved with missions since
her first trip with her family to Nicaragua three years
