More than 50 fathers and sons gathered for Conquest service project to beautify Campo Grande

Cumming, Georgia – More than 50 fathers and sons came for the March 10, 2013 Conquest service project to improve the grounds of Campo Grande, one of the sports fields used for soccer and lacrosse at Pinecrest Academy in Cumming, Georgia.

“Though the event took place from 2:00 to 5:00 pm, some volunteers even stayed as late as 7:30 pm to ensure that the final details of the project were complete,” said Brother Josef Raoul Rodriguez, LC, who was on site to help.

The day’s improvements to Campo Grande included adding timbers to the path, laying about 9 tons of gravel, and close to the same amount of mulch, as well as ½ a ton of river rock.  The group also installed two catch basins and drainage pipes.

“There was a lot of picking, digging and shoveling involved,” said Brother Josef.

“We have the blisters to prove it!”

Brother Josef encourages local Regnum Christi members to “drive up to Campo Grande to take a look” at the first of several steps to beautifying the area.

“Thanks to all who participated!” he said. “May the Lord bless you for your generosity!”
