In a testimony to Regnum Christi’s dedication to Integral Formation, one of the movement’s newest schools received wonderful news last month from AdvancEd.

“It is with great pride that we share with you that the External Review Team from AdvancED has recommended to the International Council that Everest Academy Manila be granted initial accreditation as a school of quality!” announced  Mrs. Angelica R. Fernandez de Castro, who has been the Principal of Everest Academy since it was founded in 2007. “It was indeed a momentous and joyous event for all of us.”

AdvancED made the accreditation recommendation after a thorough four-day Quality Assurance review visit April 8 to 11, 2013.

Everest Manila has 260 students and is the first Regnum Christi school in Asia.  The school is also the very first RC school to be granted academic recognition through AdvancED.

The team of evaluators highlighted the “powerful and collaborative dedication of parents, faculty, and staff to the school’s mission and vision, the outstanding classroom management and teaching skills of what they described as ‘world class’ faculty that engage students in meaningful learning.”

The review team also commended the school for its dedication to community service and its commitment to school improvement.

“The recent recognition verifies how Everest Academy is meeting the standards of excellence in terms

of world-class education,” said Angelica. “The administrators, faculty, staff, parents, and most importantly, the students all played a significant role in the process of accreditation.”

Student Izzy Evaristo exclaimed, “I feel like it is a real school and people will know about us.”

One of the school’s newest teacher, Mr. Arceo, said, “I have been in a lot of schools were we worked for an accreditation, and this is the first time that I have the pleasure of being part of the team when it is was the seal of approval for accreditation was announced and given to us. Our horizons have opened up.  We have so much to look forward to.”
