Clarkston, Michigan -- It’s not too late to make plans
for camp this summer. Camp Kilimanjaro for boys takes place
for a second week this year at Everest Academy in
Clarkston, Michigan, from August 1-8, 2013.
The first Camp Kilimanjaro was
held from June 10-17, 2013 at Everest, and was a
great success, according to Fr. Thomas Flynn LC, chaplain during

About 23 boys participated
in the week-long camp, including activities like a survival day,
a scavenger hunt, sports tournament, and creative challenges such as
building a hut and making a map of the camp
property. Campers also went off-site to visit the sand dunes
on Lake Michigan, Sacred Heart Apostolic School in Rolling Prairie,
Indiana, and they also performed a man-on-the-street faith survey in
|Water Slide at Camp Kilimanjaro|
“In groups of five, with one adult per
group, the boys go through the streets with a questionnaire
asking people about their faith,” said Br. Joshua.
