New middle school building at Everest Academy Manila.

At the beginning of the school year, Everest Academy Manila’s Middle School building in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) was inaugurated and blessed by the Bishop of the Diocese of Pasig, Mylo Hubert Vergara, D.D. The August 30, 2013, event was attended by more than one hundred guests, parents, and Regnum Christi members.

Bishop Mylo officiated the Mass together with Everest chaplain Fr. Hieu Nguyen, L.C., Fr. Eric Nielsen, LC and Fr. Arnold Eramiz of St. Michael the Archangel parish in BGC.  Taguig City mayor Laarni L. Cayetano led in the ribbon cutting ceremonies.

The newly blessed building houses the middle school, grades 6 to 8. It has a state-of-the-art science laboratory, a computer laboratory, and spacious classrooms for each of the two sections per grade level that can accommodate up to 25 students per section.

The event was a milestone in the school’s seven-year history and the culmination of two years of design and much preparation in order to provide additional facilities to accommodate the growing number of Everest Academy students.

“My friends and I have been waiting for this building for a long time,” said one of the Everest 6th graders who represented the student body to the Bishop. “We’ve been so excited for this. I still remember about 3 years ago when we would look at the model and plans.

“We’ve now grown to almost 300, which is why we really need this new building. We now have additional classrooms, a new laboratory, additional computers and, everybody’s favorite, our very
