Fr. Nathaniel Haslam LC appeals for prayer for Christians in Iraq.

Pope Francis and the US Bishops are calling for Christians around the world to join in prayer for those who are suffering persecution in Iraq, and to pray for peace in the Middle East.

In a video message (here) to the Regnum Christi members in Houston, Texas, Fr. Nathaniel Haslam LC joins the pope and bishops is asking for prayer.  In an email to RC members, he mentions the US Bishops are inviting everyone to dedicate next Sunday, August 17, to prayer for this intention.

“Please join your parishes in their initiatives of solidarity and aid to our brothers and sisters, and their pastors, who are undergoing such a brutal trial,” he said.

Fr. Nathaniel reminded RC members that all Christians must follow the Lord in embracing their cross.
