It is customary for Legionaries of Christ and Regnum Christi members to head their correspondence with the phrase,
"Your Kingdom Come!" This salutation, a familiar line from the
Lord´s prayer, sums up the apostolic thrust of the Regnum Christi movement. It points us in the direction of
winning the culture for Christ.
In his November 6 catechesis on
Psalm 97(98), Pope John Paul II reflected on the meaning
of this phrase for all Christians. A Zenit news dispatch
quotes him saying: "This is our great hope and our
invocation: ´Your Kingdom come!´ -- a Kingdom of peace, justice,
and serenity, which will re-establish the original harmony of creation."
The Holy Father teaches that the "certainty that God intervenes
in history and will have the last say, is what
constitutes the foundation of the believer´s serenity," Zenit reported.
The Holy
Father´s insights reassure us of the Lord´s providence and should
grant all Christians -- but especially Legionaries and Regnum Christi members -- confidence as they seek to live
their vocation of prayer and service. Your Kingdom Come!
