May 31st Soñar Despierto ("Daydreams"), an apostolate for high school
students, from Puebla (México) organized its first Amigos para Siempre,
Friends Forever, activity for poor children at the México City
Six Flags amusement park. 150 children from the parish catechism
program in the suburb of Balcanes del Sur joined fifteen
of their teachers to take part in this wonderful apostolic
initiative.
Just as the sun was coming up, seven buses
left Balcanes del Sur, located on the outskirts of the
city of Puebla, for the Mexican capital. There was a
member of Daydreams for every child and together they shared
the whole day´s activities: rides, games, food and fun.
The
children were enthusiastically grateful for this unforgettable day but those
who received the most in the end were the young
apostles of Daydreams. They learned a very valuable lesson: it
is so easy to make a child happy, you just
need a little love and a pinch of joy and
you get a smile almost immediately.
