Rome, April 28th, 2010. The five bishops appointed as apostolic
visitators to the Congregation of the Legionaries of Christ will
meet at the Apostolic Palace this Friday, April 30th. The
visitators are scheduled to assemble with Holy See representatives in
order to analyze together the reports they presented after their
visitation conducted in all centers of the congregation during the
past months.
On April 28th, the Holy
See has released the following statement about this Friday’s meeting:
“In reply to the inquiry of some of the members
of the press, Fr Federico Lombardi, director of the Vatican
Press Room has made known some particulars of the assembly
to which the five bishops in charge of the apostolic
visitation to the Congregation of the Legionaries of Christ have
been invited: this is a meeting—declares Fr Lombardi—for the visitators
to make a first presentation of their accounts and recommendations.
Therefore, no one should expect any particular resolutions regarding the
aforementioned Congregation. These decisions will be made later by the
Holy Father, after attentively studying the results of the visitation
and after reflecting on them. A brief communiqué about this
Friday’s work will be released after the meeting.”
We
would like to invite all our readers to pray for
this meeting, especially during Holy Hour this Thursday night, and
during other moments of adoration in front of the Most
Blessed Sacrament.
