Curitiba, Brazil. March 31, 2008. On March 2nd, the consecrated women of Regnum Christi welcomed six new members hailing
from Brazil and Columbia. Twelve additional young women renewed their
promises and received their rings, as is customary after the
first two years of consecrated life. These young women all
live, pray, study, and work in a formation center located
in Curitiba, Brazil.
The Mass was celebrated in the parish of
Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception. The main celebrant was
Father Manuel Aromir, LC, the territorial director of Brazil. It
was concelebrated by Father Celso Nogueira, LC and Father Juan
Luis Cendejas, LC.
At the start of the
ceremony, Father Aromir read the congregation a letter that Father Alvaro Corcuera, LC had written to the young women
who were getting consecrated. Written just the day before, the
letter encouraged them in the courageous step they were making
and thanked them for their generosity with God.

the homily, Father Aromir reminded those present of the beauty
of a life given entirely to God, and commented on
the act of generosity and love behind the decision of
those who were making or renewing their promises. He also
commented on the faith and generosity of the families who
had formed their daughters to love God, and who were
willing to make the sacrifice of giving their daughters to
God.
Father Aromir illustrated the point by reading
some paragraphs from a letter that a mother had written
to her daughter on her consecration day. In the letter,
the mother reflected on the process that had unfolded as
her daughter had begun seeking God’s will for her life,
and marveled at the hand of God.
At the end, he
congratulated the parents and also the grandparents, pointing out that
their daughters and granddaughters were there because they had taught
them to live faith, seek God’s will, and put love
above all else.
Members from the Regnum Christi
sections of Curitiba were also there at the consecration Mass,
as well as families and teachers from the International
Everest School, where some of the consecrated women work apostolically.
