Territorial Councils Named for Consecrated Women

Four council members named for new Territorial Director of consecrated women in North America

Cardinal De Paolis recently named new Territorial Directors for the consecrated women around the world, following a consultation of the members. Councils were also named for each Territorial Director. The North American territory will have four councilors; a brief bio of each follows.

Glory Darbellay (1st Councilor)

Glory was born in Saskatchewan, Canada and has been consecrated for 18 years. She studied a degree in Humanities before her consecration, and now has a degree in Education and Development as well. She has worked as dean of studies at the precandidacy, as a teacher at the Highlands School in Dallas, and in vocational work in the Northeastern United States. She has worked most recently as the ECyD assistant and director of the consecrated women in New York.

  

Denise Funke

Denise is from Alberta, Canada and has been consecrated for 20 years. She studied Education before being consecrated, and has worked as a formator in formation centers for consecrated women in the United States and Monterrey, as well as at the precandidacy in the United States. She has also worked as director of Woodlands Academy and the Oakhill School in Ireland. She has been working as director of formation in the Highlands School in Dallas, and since July 2012 has also been one of the Territorial Director’s council members.  

  

Michelle Reiff

Michelle is from Iowa and has been consecrated 16 years. She received a degree in medicine  before her consecration, and then one in Administration of Catholic Schools from the University of Dallas. She has worked as a formator of consecrated women in Chile and Dallas, and as a spiritual director for the territory of North America. She was the director of the Cumbres School in Santiago, Chile and has also worked as director of formation and a member of the directive team of the Highlands School in Dallas. She is currently working as director of the women’s RC section in Dallas, and since 2001 has been the director of the consecrated women there.

  

Mary Smith

Mary is from California and has been consecrated for 18 years. She studied a nursing degree prior to her consecration. She has done vocational work in Hungary and St. Louis, and was the director of women’s sections in Michigan and Washington DC. She has been the director of the consecrated women in Washington DC since March.
