Students of Everest Manila reach out to flood victims

floodofgenerosity2012

Manila, Philippines - After one week of suspended classes due to heavy rains, students at Everest Manila were not only excited to be back in school, but also to reach out to the unfortunate victims of the flood.

Many students came to school carrying donations of food and goods, while others shared their experiences of packing relief goods with their communities. In Catholic Formation class, all the students made personal prayer cards for families affected by the flood; the prayer cards were then attached to the relief bags that all the students had helped pack.

The middle school students prepared sandwiches that they brought personally to Ibayo Palingon evacuation center and Brgy. Santa Anna (both situated in Taguig City) for their first Apostolic Activity. They made up to 1000 ham and cheese sandwiches, which they personally delivered to 500 children and 130 families.

“I truly thought that we did an ordinary thing extraordinarily,” said 7th grader Sabina Gidaya, “I believe that by doing this, we made God happy by being

generous to our brothers and sisters.”
