Washington, DC – More than 150 children and their families received a little bit of Christmas cheer in the nation’s capitol city this Advent season.

Archbishop Carroll High School in Washington, DC, hosted its annual Angel for a Day event this month. Young men and women, many ECYD and Regnum Christi members, volunteered to serve holiday refreshments and wrap and give out donated toys collected from their local schools and parishes in the area.

Guests enjoyed cotton candy, popcorn, pizza, hot dogs and Christmas cookies.  The children played games including mini-basketball, bean bag and ring toss, leap frog, mini-soccer, and “monster-head smash.”

“The purpose of the event was to provide a fun-filled afternoon for underprivileged children and their families,” said Fr. Michael Sliney, LC, who serves in the Washington DC area and helped during the event.
