March 7, 2008. Irving, TX. Nadia Khalid, a senior and
member of the Highlands School’s National Honor Society, was recently
nominated for the prestigious National Honor Society Scholarship.
sponsored by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP),
awards a total of $200,000 in college scholarships to the
winning students. The 2008 program will also offer special recognition
and additional awards to state and regional winners, along with
the selection of one national recipient who will receive a
“Nadia has contributed to creating a positive atmosphere of
learning and academic excellence in the student body,” stated Ms.
Reiff, the principal of The Highlands School. “She builds
school spirit and enthusiasm with her love for her classmates
and the ideals of the school. Nadia’s dedication and determination
have made her a well-rounded young woman,” she added.
The Highlands School, Ms. Khalid has been President of the
National Honor Society, President of the Student Body, Captain of
the Model United Nations Team, actress in several school-produced plays,
athlete, and involved in several service projects. This fall she
plans to attend the University of Chicago to study law
