December 10, 2010. Washington, DC. This past December 7, the Institute for the Psychological Sciences (IPS) received the official news that its accreditation with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) has been reaffirmed for a 10 year period. 

Reaffirmation is a process that all colleges and universities go through five years after their initial accreditation, and it means that the school is in full compliance with the academic, administrative and governance criteria that are expected from quality institutions of higher education.

In a letter to the IPS community, IPS president Fr Charles Sikorsky, LC, noted that the faculty, staff and student body all “contributed significantly” throughout the process. He extended a special thanks to Dr. Sweeney, Dr. Nordling and the entire faculty for their “constant and tireless work in ensuring the high quality of our programs and in preparing the information and reports necessary for the reaffirmation process.”

He added, “In our brief history, the Institute has experienced many signs of God’s providential hand, and this is one more success which confirms my belief that God has a special mission for IPS and for each one of us.”
