| Archbishop Wuerl visited the Angel for a Day event in Washington. | |

On December 9, a group of young men and women,
under the direction of the Leadership Training Program and guidance
of the Legionaries of Christ, celebrated the joy of Jesus’
birth in a very special way. Inner-city children and their
families were invited to attend “Angel for a Day”, located
at Catholic University’s Pryzbyla Center in Washington, D.C. The attendees
enjoyed many games, a moon bounce, snow cones, popcorn, drinks
and even a visit from Santa, all free of charge.
Each child was also given a gift and a Bible
before leaving the event.
The volunteers hailed from various high schools
around Maryland and orchestrated the fundraising and organization of the
entire event. With a visit from Washington Archbishop Donald Wuerl,
songs, games, food and prizes the event was a joyous
occasion for the children and a rewarding experience for the
volunteers.
