| The greatest present of all is God's presence. | |
 |
December 18, 2011. As Advent draws to a close, God
invites us to see the presence of God with renewed
vision. But in order to see the greatest “present” of
all—the face of God— we need a change of heart.
“This is what we will explore and pray about together
today: the gift of God, what keeps us from his
presence, and most importantly, to enter into his presence,” says
Fr Daniel in an Advent reflection that was well received
in various cities throughout the United States.
In his talk, he
draws a parallel between the story of George Bailey, from
the classic movie “It’s a Wonderful Life” and our own
spiritual walk, too often marred by an inability to see
the goodness of God in our lives.
Full of stories, illustrations,
and practical applications, this talk invites listeners to grow in
the three “Advent attitudes” of gratitude, penance, and adoration so
as to welcome the Christ Child into a purified heart.
