Youth for the Third Millennium (YTM) organized a mission from
November 8th to the 10th in Warren, MA, for two
different parishes, St. Paul´s and St. Thomas Aquinas. Both parishes
are directed by Father Daniel Becker, one of the many
diocesan priests who belong to the Regnum Christi Movement. The
group of missionaries totaled thirty, fourteen young men, many of
them high school students, and sixteen seminarians from the Legionaries
of Christ novitiate in Cheshire, CT.
The missionaries hit the
streets of Warren to evangelize and made quite an impact.
They visited eighty homes, the majority of them Catholic, and
invited the townspeople to take a more active role in
their parish. The missionaries also asked on behalf of Father
Becker if they had any special prayer intentions.
When the
day was done the missionaries would gather and share their
experiences. The joy of a concrete opportunity to spread the
Gospel was evident and contagious.
A great deal of the
mission was organized by one high school senior, Kyle Krosby,
the YTM regional coordinator. Kyle attended the Regnum Christi yearly
Formators´ Course last year and has shown just how much
one young person can do.
The missionaries will continue their
efforts at the Mission for Life in Washington, DC,
this coming January 2003. Father Becker was very grateful for
the generosity and joy that the young people spread throughout
the region.
