February 26, 2010. Paris, KY. Drew Page, a football player on the Paris High School team and a SportsLeader athlete, had an idea and made it happen.

After learning about the earthquake in Haiti, he and his friends decided they wanted to do something to help. Their solution: peanut butter.

Drew took it upon himself to approach local businesses and ask them if he could put up a poster and some crates to collect peanut butter for the victims of the earthquake. Seven businesses supported the initiative.

He then went home with his brother and enlisted his help to make posters and gather some materials to get the job done. After four hours, they brought the materials to the businesses. Less than one month later, he had collected 1,000 jars of peanut butter.

total of 10,000 jars of peanut butter and delivered to the Red Cross for shipment to Haiti.

"Every night I would pray that the Lord would make this work,” said Drew. “He answered my prayers.”
