| Flyer for Boys' ECYD summer program in Canada | |
 |
What are you
doing this summer? Soaking up some sun, hanging out with
friends, reconnecting with family?
How about having a life-changing experience as an
ECyD Missionary? (ECyD stands for “Experiences, Convictions and Your Decisions.”)
ECyD Mission Corps offers high school-aged girls and boys the
opportunity to spend a summer serving others through mission work,
while developing their relationship with Jesus Christ.
ECyD mission opportunities are diverse.
Missionaries choose from 33 locations in 15 countries. (Missionaries who
go abroad from their home country must be fluent in
the language of the destination country.) Mission work includes volunteering
as counselors in ECyD camps and conventions, assisting the elderly
or disadvantaged, running vacation bible school programs and day camps
for children at parishes, helping with local Challenge and Conquest
club activities, and much more!
ECyD missionaries form friendships with other missionaries
that last a lifetime, and they enhance their faith life
through one-on-one dialogue with religious mentors, daily Mass, Eucharistic adoration,
prayer and the sacrament of confession.
ECyD Mission Corps programs run from
4 to 8 weeks in the summer, usually from the
end of June to the beginning of August, depending on
the location. Missionary girls and boys are under the care
and supervision of the Regnum Christi consecrated women (girls) or
Legion of Christ priests and seminarians (boys).
