wyd 2010

Madrid, Spain, November 24, 2010 -- Young people interested in attending the August 2011 World Youth Day might be interested in an initiative on the website Catholic.net

The website is accepting submissions in a special essay contest, for which the prize for the “most inspiring” and “well written” entry is a fully-paid trip to World Youth Day in Madrid, Spain.  Young writers need to address the topic “How did you find God?”

“We are already receiving essays in several languages, including Spanish, English, and Italian,” said Father Nathaniel Haslam, LC. He said a group of priests and religious in Rome are sponsoring the contest.

Essays should not exceed 700 words.  Young people of any nationality between the ages of 16 to 28 are eligible to enter, and there is no cost.  Entries are due by December 31, 2010.  To enter your essay testimony, go to http://www.catholic.net/wyd2011competition.

The winner will be named on the Catholic.net website on February 14, 2011.
