The Band-Aid Campaign Triumphs in Miami

Six teams of Challenge girls in Miami can do great things for Christ.
Imagine hundreds of people poor families in Mexico receiving the basic hygiene supplies that we take for granted every day. The Challenge Club of Miami was able to make this dream a reality. Through lots of hard work powered by lots of smiles the six teams of Challenge girls in Miami collected hundreds of dollars worth of medical supplies, hygiene products, toys, clothes and other special surprises to send to Mexico for the "Mega Missions." The teams raised money and collected the donated supplies to help some of the families visited by the 50,000 missionaries. To recognize all the effort that the girls put into the project the team leaders planned a surprise ice cream party with lots of toppings and smiles. The new Challenge team in Naples, Florida, also participated by packing all of the 27 large boxes of supplies that were sent.

Samantha Roque is a Challenge Club Member in Miami. This is her experience of the Campaign:

"This year in the Band-Aid Campaign of Challenge Miami we raised over one thousand dollars in supplies and money for the less fortunate children in Mexico. We were told to collect school supplies and baby products for these children in need. Therefore,

each group went out and succeeded using different methods. For example, some girls went door to door in their neighborhoods asking people for money; one group even went out of their way and organized a talent show to raise money for the children. Also, the one method that helped us the most was in our schools, where we asked friends to bring in money and supplies. Even though we all were rejected a few times by some people, we all kept going in hopes for more good-hearted people. Everyone had a lot of fun doing this project and also collecting money and using it to buy supplies. We also look forward to our next project hoping we can do even better."
