New Haven, CT -- (Catholic.net) -- 05/13/2010 – On the
Feast of the Ascension and of Our Lady of Fatima,
Catholic.net also celebrates the launching of its Catholic Bible search
engine.
This online Catholic Bible with keyword search has Vatican-approved
translations in both English and Spanish, with all 73 books
of the Bible.
Catholic.net Bible search engine adopts social media optimization,
allowing users to share Bible passages on several of the
most popular social media based web portals. Additionally, the Web
2.0 enhanced Bible search is set up for content sharing.
Users can download chapters of the Bible, thanks to the
adoption of a SMART database. Additionally, users can add a
Bible search widget to their own website or blog (the
source code is available at: www.catholic.net/share).
Several volunteers worked on
this project, including adolescents under the care of Social Services
in Mexico City through a social aid program run by
Catholic.net in Mexico. Financing for this project was in part
provided by the USCCB, United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.
“We
are most thankful to all the volunteers and to the
USCCB for making our Bible search possible,” stated Rosalia Tenorio,
Catholic.net Director. “This tool aims to help the faithful in
their Biblical studies and to facilitate scripture sharing,” added Tenorio.
Users
can access the Bible search right on Catholic.net’s homepage, and
through the following URLs:
For English: www.catholic.net/bible
For Spanish: www.es.catholic.net/biblia
