May 5, 2011. Colfax, CA. Recently, the archdiocese of New
York teamed up with the dioceses of Brooklyn and Rockville
Center to create a grassroots marketing campaign in the form
of a YouTube video contest (see www.i-confess.com) promoting the sacrament
of confession. Films will be judged based upon the following
criteria: (a) orthodoxy, (b) ratings the film receives on YouTube
between the posting date and 12:00 AM on May 7,
2011; and (c) overall artistic quality.
With the guidance of
one of the teachers, the apostolic boys at Colfax submitted
several videos promoting confession to the i-Confess contest as part of
the competition. The videos with the most VIEWS and THUMBS-UPs
will win and the deadline for promotion is May 7th,
2011. So far, the video “Be Reconciled to God”
is in second place out of a total of 161
videos with 15,595 views, not too far away from the
first-place video. Your extra views and “likes” could make it
the winner.
The first-place prize for the competition is worth
$25,000 toward an educational scholarship. A Catholic school or parish
of the winner’s choice will also receive a matching prize
of $25,000. The second place prize is worth $10,000 with
a matching prize of $10,000 for a Catholic school or
parish, and there are several third prizes worth $1000.

Caleb Herboth, who created the “Be Reconciled
to God” video, said that if it wins, the money
will go toward covering urgent needs at the Immaculate Conception
Apostolic School in Colfax. Along with the most-viewed video “Be
Reconciled to God,” the apostolics made several other videos as
well:
1. Be Reconciled to God
2. Parce Domine
3.
Take Off Your Chains
4. 24 Hours
5. The Cure
6. You Can Still Make a Difference
7. A New
Life
8. Second Chance
9. There is Hope
