June 15, 2011. “No one has the right to be
a priest, but it is a privilege to be called
and to be given the gift to be a priest,”
says Fr Randal Kasel, a parochial administrator in the archdiocese
of St. Paul and Minneapolis. It was to tell the
story of how this gift takes shape in the lives
of individual men that Vocation.com launched a new series of
video testimonies featuring 9 diocesan and religious priests from
across the United States and Canada.
One was raised an
atheist. Another had to overcome his parents’ objections to his
vocation, while another struggled with his own fears. Another was
deeply influenced by a conversation with another holy priest. Yet
another discovered his true calling after he had already become
a pilot. Three others, from the Hopkins family, joined the
same religious order, while their sister joined a convent.
Their
stories, told firsthand with humor, drama, and honesty, are online
at Vocation.com as LifeStories: Vocations on Video.
