Rome will host the III International Congress on Women March
6th-8th organized by the Institute of Higher Studies on Women
at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum, analyzing the integral role
of women within today´s culture and society.
The program will
begin with a seminar held at the Castel di Guido
Convention Center (Rome) entitled "Women, Family and Human Development." This
will provide an opportunity for the participants to reflect on
the role women play in the building of families and
the integral formation of its members. What is the future
of the family? What values are the foundation of today´s
families? What is the family currently evolving into and what
role do women play within it? These are just a
few of the questions that the seminar seeks to investigate.
The
seminar will feature diverse activities such as workshops, personal testimonies,
talks, as well as moments for the attendees to rest
and converse with one another.
The second day of the congress
will be held at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum and
will highlight a conference on "Sexuality and Feminine Self-Esteem" with
international experts leading the discussion. They will focus on the
identity of women in relation to their sexual development and
maturation from a philosophical, psychological and religious perspective.
The goal
of the Institute of Higher Studies on Women is to
promote a new concept of feminism that defends the rights
of women without destroying what makes them unique -- the
"feminine genius", as the Holy Father calls it --
and that exalts the richness that femininity contributes to building
the civilization of love.
