Year of Faith: Cardinal John Tong Hon explains why Confession is key

bishop of Hong Kong, Cardinal John Tong Hong,
said that to speak of God to society, a person
needs to first undergo a conversion. So
his suggestions for promoting the New Evangelization consist
of formation and the Sacrament of confession.

I receive this Sacrament at least every three
weeks. I go to my confessor priest to receive the
Sacrament of confession.”
In his diocese, Cardinal Tong Hon
has a program to promote the formation of
lay catechists. Over 1,000 are taking part to deepen
their understanding of the Christian faith. It´s something that
has already had a positive impact.
