| On September 14th, 1983, the Legion of Christ founded its first center of apostolate in Toowomoomba, Australia. Today, various apostolic works of the Legion are taking root in major cities throughout the country. |

Since the 1980s, young Australian men and women discerning a
vocation have joined the Legion of Christ and the consecrated
life in Regnum Christi. The Regnum Christi Movement is also
beginning to grow throughout the major cities. Its members are
involved in apostolates such as Catholic Kids Net (Kids for
Jesus), Challenge, ConQuest, and Youth for the Third Millennium. Recently,
an increasing number of young men and women have committed
one or more years of their life to serving the
Church as volunteers in the Regnum Christi Coworker Program.
